There Is No Such Thing As “A Perfect Home”

Buying a home is not about having a perfect house. If you think this, you will be sorely disappointed in your home search. It is about finding the best home for your family. But best does not equal perfect.

There is no such thing as a perfect home. There is going to be something you don’t like in any home that you look at. Whether that means that the house is smaller than you would like, it is not in your preferred location, or it costs more than you were wanting to spend, it will not be perfect.

Our current home was definitely the best option for us. It was within our budget and was in the location we wanted. However, it also backs up to another home, and we weren’t able to do all of the upgrades we wanted when we built (we bought new). Perfect? No. Best? Yes. It was a good home for us that met over 90% of the criteria when we bought.

The home we are looking at next is in our budget, but also more than I was thinking I would spend. We’ll also have to wait for it to be built (yay…building again), and we’ll have some stuff to change/upgrade after we close on the home. Still, even with that, it meets the majority of our wants for our next home so it’s our best pick.

There’s no such thing as perfect, especially in real estate. You just need to know where you are willing to bend on what you want to get the house that is right for you.
