Top 10% of US Income
Fool.com recently released an article showing the starting income for the Top 10%, 5%, & 1 % in the country. Currently, the median income in the US is $69,717, as of 2021. However, the Top 10% of income comes in quite a bit higher:
- Top 10%- $191,406
- Top 5%- $290,164
- Top 1%- $867,436
Now, this includes all demographics and also doesn’t account for location. Still, it is kind of crazy to see that last year we were in the Top 5% of income for the country. The baffling thing on top of that is that I wasn’t even in the top half of income in my area compared to my coworkers.
At the same time, I cannot even fathom making $867,000 a year. like holy shit. I don’t have any idea how I could even increase my income that much.
But there you go. Only gotta make over $867K to be in the Top 1%. Easy Peasy…
