We Had A Leak
That didn’t take long, did it? As of today, it’s been a little over four months since we bought our rental, and we have had tenants living there for over two months. Well, less than a month in is when we get the text asking how to turn off the flood sensor in the kitchen…
So we had a leak AND it was while we were on vacation and over five hours away. Because of course it was. The good news is that our rental is new construction so there is a warranty. The plumber was there within a few hours to stop the leak and confirm that it was the garbage disposal. They came back a couple of days later to correct it and we were good.
All in all, pretty damn happy we got the flood sensors installed as part of the home security. Saved us from having a much bigger issue since we wouldn’t have noticed this until a fair amount later. As it stands, we only need to get the cabinet floor re-skinned and then everything will be fixed. Plus all of this is part of the warranty and therefore is at no cost to us. So this sucked but could have been much worse.
Yay for flood sensors and warranties.
