Reward Points For The Win
We did it! We booked a trip for my birthday. Nothing fancy. We’re doing a local trip. This way we can drive there and only have to pay for the hotel, gas, and food. And the food around there is awesome so I am really looking forward to it. Plus, a lot of it is outdoors which makes it easier for staying safer with how covid is ramping up again in the hospitals. Because the pandemic isn’t over, just under-reported.
The best part was that since the pandemic started, we have been accumulating points on our credit cards. We finally get to cash them in. So, the hotel was covered entirely by points on our Amex card. A $770 hotel bill turned into $0.00 after using 110,000 reward points. Yay! Now, the only thing we will actually have to pay for out of pocket is gas and food. This will probably be the most cost-effective vacation we have ever had. It will be nice to go away for a bit and not mentally be adding dollars in my head to stay under a certain budget. It’ll be fun.
Have you been traveling at all since the pandemic? How has it been?
