2022 Financial Goals

Alrighty!!! It’s time to look at 2022 and what the goals are for this year. Last year, I greatly underestimated what we could do in one year. I simply never thought that what we did was even a little possible. Given that, I am trying to go two levels above where my brain wants everything to be. At the same time, that means that there is a possibility that some of these will not be met.

Of course, I must remember my own words from last year: Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you are still in the comforting void of space far, far away from all the crazy people. So, with that, here are our 2022 Financial Goals:

  • Purchase an Investment Property
    • $60,000 for down payment & cash closing costs
  • Max out my 401K
    • $20,500 for 2022
  • Max out our IRAs
    • $12,000 for both of us
  • Max out IULs
    • $16,045 for both of us
  • Set Up Our HSA to Be Maxed Out
    • $7300 for both of us
  • Get Mortgage Under $150,000
    • $17,150 for 2022
  • $15,000 to Charity/Direct Aid
  • Make $275,000 in gross income
    • Up $25,000 from last year
  • Make $3,000 net in rental income in 2022
    • Really depends on when the home closes being new construction and all.
  • Invest $25,000 in Index Funds/Employee Stocks
  • Increase Net Worth to $700,000
    • A nearly $150,000 increase from 2021

Now, is all of this possible? Who the hell knows? But, these are the goals for 2022.

Basically, there are three potential outcomes:

  • If we meet all of them, I will be on the moon.
  • If we meet some of them, then great! I’m in space.
  • If we meet none of them, some serious shit would have gone down this year, and I would be super depressed. Also, I’ll be on Earth with all the annoying people…Simply put, this is not an option.

So, here’s to some or all of the goals being met and to a happy 2022!

Am I being crazy or not crazy enough? What are your 2022 Goals?

  1. Nice! I love that you have different stages of acceptance criteria for your goals. I hope you reach your stretch goals and the rental properties donโ€™t have any surprise costs.
